Mexican Cuisine: “El Tzitz” specializes in Mexican cooking classes with an emphasis on local produce, local varieties, and specialties. Irma López, the main cook, is proud of her cuisine that she has developed over the years, continuously
changing and adjusting their recipes to take into account the seasons of the year and local flavors. The cooking classes take place in a beautiful house inside the oldest part of San Cristóbal de las Casas: close to the center but a quiet place of
beautiful gardens and places outside with a view of the city. If you want to learn something about the typical local cuisine or just want to spend a few hours in a nice place, preparing and eating delicious food, this is the place for you. Group classes there are days
Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 12 to 3. The first person who registers decides the menu of the day. There is an optional tour of the market before classes, starting at 10.30.

Group classes: $740 pesos per person, for a 3-4 hour class.
With a tour of the large indigenous market, just three blocks from “El Tzitz”: $900 pesos per person, a total of 4-5 hours.
