What is “El Tzitz”?
“El Tzitz” is an open kitchen cooking/event space.
We offer cooking classes and special events. The space can also be rented to organize private events. There are tables for 12
people, a fully equipped kitchen with 10 additional seating spaces around the stoves and several outdoor spaces.
Located in the historical neighborhood of “El Cerillo”, on Avenida Pichucalco 4 A, “El Tzitz”
is located in a completely renovated old house with wooden floors, fireplaces and beautiful gardens
overlooking the city of San Cristóbal de las Casas.
The house used to be the home of Marcey Jacabson, the photographer, and Janet Marren
Greenberg, the painter. They arrived together in San Cristóbal de las Casas from New York
City in 1956 and made the city their home.
